ADVANCED MUSCLE INTEGRATION

AMIT has been used extensively on Olympic and professional athletes for the last 34 years. It has not only corrected acute and chronic problems, but it has allowed athletes to perform at levels they had not considered possible. This technique is now available to you at Pro Health Chiropractic. Dr. Jeff Robinson DC is certified and experienced in the AMIT system.

The science behind this technique is simple and precise. When a muscle is overloaded beyond its ability to sustain the load, one of two things happen; the muscle fibers tear and/or the nervous system ‘shuts off’ the muscle to avoid further damage. Much like a circuit beaker in an electrical circuit. The “shut off” muscle will ache and not work properly. Your body will then adapt by using other muscles and tissues to compensate for the non-working muscle. When this happens, the symptoms of the injured muscle may dissipate without medication or treatment giving a false sense of well being until the next stress or injury occurs.

If the initial injury is not corrected and the “shut off” muscle is not reactivated, the adaptive tissue becomes the site of new injury, and the injury-adaptation cycle continues until there are no more muscles in an area to adapt. This places more stress on the ligaments and connective tissues and they begin to break, causing degenerative changes in the joint.

The AMIT system reactivates muscles that have been “shut off” and protects it from further injury and joint problems. The examination procedure involves evaluating the range of motion and muscle function of the joints in the body. Dr. Robinson can test up to 620 muscles for function which makes for the most precise analysis available.

Once all the problem areas are defined, Dr. Robinson has a blue print of the past and present injuries. (Most patients forget about their past injuries, but the A.M.I.T. examination reveals them). The next question that Dr. Robinson will address is, are the imbalances that have been defined the cause of the problem or merely the site of adaptation? Accurately answering this question with his expertise is the key to maximizing the effectiveness of the therapy.

Advance Muscle Integration Therapy consists of stimulating 12 different reflex and tissue systems for each muscle being treated. Once the muscles are reactivated, they become capable of maximum contraction and proper functioning under load. Following the therapy, we consistently find that the pain associated with the movement pattern of the muscle treated is no longer present.

As each muscle is reactivated and cleared, function gradually improves giving the patient 100% access to all muscles supporting the joint. This leads to pain free joint range of motion. Healing and strengthening can now take place quickly without the need to take medication or surgery.

Do you have Chronic Pain or Injuries that do not get better? Are you not able to perform or compete the way you would like? Want better results?

When a muscle is overused beyond its ability to withstand the load, one of two things happens;

  1. The muscle fibers tear and/or
  2. The nervous system “shuts off” the muscle to avoid further damage.

In these cases, the “shut off” muscle will ache and not work properly. Your body will then adapt by using other muscles and tissues to compensate for the non-working muscle, causing imbalances which lead to more pain and even more injuries.

The AMIT method will detect the muscle that is “shut off”, and correct it by restoring its function and muscular imbalances. Therefore, allowing your body to heal.

AMIT has been used greatly among Olympic and professional athletes for the last 34 years. It has not only corrected acute and chronic problems, but also has allowed athletes to perform at levels they had not considered possible.
